Adhir Kalyan is a South African actor. His roles include the shows Rules of Engagement, United States of Al, and Aliens in America, and the films Paul Blart: Mall Cop, Fired Up, and High School.
He was born in Durban, South Africa, of Gujarati Indian descent, the son of Santosh Vinita “Sandy” Kalyan and Jitendra Kalyan. His mother Sandy was a member of Parliament in the South African National Assembly, where she represented the Democratic Alliance, from 1999 to 2019.
The name Adhir means “Restless, impatient.” Adhir moved to London, England in 2005, and later to the U.S. Adhir is married to American actress Emily Wilson, with whom he has one child.
