Lukes, rose ceremonies, oh my! Hannah Brown had her work cut out for her during week 5 of The Bachelorette. Last week ended on a cliffhanger, so the June 11 episode kicked off with a tense rose ceremony after the Luke P. and Luke S. drama. Where We Left Off …
Hannah tried to have a sit down with the two Lukes in order to get some sort of resolution. Unfortunately, the contestants just talked in circles and didn’t give any real clarity. The former beauty queen ended up leaving in the middle of the conversation.

“I came here because I wanted to fall in love with an amazing woman … It’s a shame I had to be involved with a man like you,” Luke S. snapped at Luke P. “It’s just lie after lie, manipulation after manipulation.” Luke P. claimed, “I’ve been doing my complete best to open and honest with her.”

After she left the conversation with the Lukes, Chris Harrison told the guys that the cocktail party was over. They proceeded directly to the rose ceremony.

Before she could hand out the first rose, Luke S. pulled her aside one more time. He decided to leave because he was over the drama. “Be wary. Keep your eyes open, alright?” the contestant pleaded before exiting.

Things Were Glum
Hannah told the guys that she didn’t want someone in the house who didn’t want to be there and proceeded to hand out roses. The whole vibe was very defeated.

New Location, Who Dis?
Hannah and the contestants were in desperate need for a new atmosphere so they took off to Scotland. Everyone seemed to be in good spirits and excited about the new city.

Mike scored the first one-on-one date and fans were just as excited as the stud.

Things were still awkward between Luke P. and the rest of the contestants. In particular, Jed was hitting his limit with the “Luke-ness monster.” The country music singer said during a private interview, “Everything single thing he says is changed and switched around … This isn’t about me throwing him under the bus, this is about Hannah and protecting her heart.”

While the contestants stewed over past drama, Hannah and Mike took off for a fab day. They explored a book store, a candy shop and did a whiskey tasting.

Mike and Hannah definitely started to build a solid relationship. “Just know that I’m 31 years old. I’ve learned a lot of things in life, I’ve been around the world and I truly know who I am and what I want,” the confident contestant promised.

Their chemistry continued to grow and Mike was given the date rose. “Today you took giant steps to be open and vulnerable with me … That makes me very excited to continue to grow,” the Alabama beauty said.

Kevin, Connor S., Dylan, Garrett, Peter, Grant, Dustin, Devin, Tyler C. and Jed joined Hannah for a group date full of games to prove their strength.

It was a really lighthearted day and Jed ended up winning the golden prize. He made quite an impact on the beauty queen after he dumped a bucket of milk on his head during a moment of intensity.

The group date left Mike and Luke P. in the house together. When Luke discovered that he received a one-on-one date, he told the guys, “I really hope I find clarity about her.” However, he later denied saying that when Mike confronted him. Basically, it was just a lot of awkward silence.

Hannah kept building connections with the guys and the drama-free date went off without a hitch.

Of course, most of the rough patches of the season have involved Luke P. so the two had a rocky conversation about it. Hannah was trying to understand why all the contestants seem to dislike him but the Florida native couldn’t give a sufficient answer.

“I’m trying really hard to understand you … I need the real,” Hannah pleaded with Luke after his robotic answers that she felt didn’t show true emotion.

Their initial connection left Hannah unsure on what to do on their fuzzy communication skills. “I would like to send him home like every other guy I was pissed at but I can’t … I can’t keep making excuses for him when I’m not doing that for anybody else,” Hannah confessed during a private interview.

Their miscommunication didn’t end at dinner. Hannah attempted to explain that she didn’t think he was being genuine. While Luke admitted that he was trying to “be perfect,” he still wasn’t able to break down his walls. His genuineness was questioned again after he gushed, “I love every single thing about you even your flaws.”

It came down to the date rose. “After today, I don’t feel good and I don’t know how I feel about you. All I want is to see Luke be Luke but it’s just not what I hoped for,” Hannah said while holding the symbolic flower. “Honestly, today was as worse as a day as gone for me.” Although week 5 ended with Hannah telling Luke, “I can’t give you this rose,” he was shown later in the teaser trailer so he’s here to stay. Time will tell the fate of this controversial contestant!
