How many CPE credits do I need Texas?

Continuing Professional Education (CPE) is required for all Texas educators holding a standard certificate. The appropriate number of clock-hours of continuing professional education (CPE) must be completed during each five-year renewal period (TAC §232.11). Classroom teachers must complete 150 CPE hours.

What is considered technical CPE for CPA?

Required Hours: 80 hours during the two-year period immediately preceding the license expiration date, with a minimum of 20 hours due each year. 40 hours in technical subjects are due each reporting period, with a minimum of 12 hours in technical subjects due each year.

Does CPA certification expire?

No. Once you have successfully completed all four sections of the Exam, your scores will not expire.

How much does it cost to renew CPA license in Texas?

The annual CPA license renewal fee in Texas is $257, the money from which goes toward several important operations of the Board. Most of it ($200) goes into a Texas state General Revenue Fund, with $10 going into a trust account for accounting scholarships, and $47 going toward general Board operations.
