English Actor, best known for playing Salla in Raiders of Lost Ark, Gimli in the Lord of the Rings and Professor Maximilian Arturo on TV series Sliders. John used to list his height in the Spotlight Casting directory as 6 feet 1/2 inch in the early 1980's, but lost a few inches through severe injuries he suffered when a stage wall collapsed on him.
