Former player for the Oakland Raiders Hubert Ginn died on September 21, 2023, at the age of 76.
Ginn is survived by a daughter and two grandsons.
Since the news of his demise was announced, tributes have poured in from across the globe in honor of the Georgia native.
About Hubert Ginn
Hubert Ginn was an American former professional footballer whose career in the National Football League (NFL) spanned from 1969 to 1978.
Ginn played primarily as a running back, beginning from Tompkins (Savannah) high school and his collegiate career at Florida A&M.
Ginn was drafted in 1970 by the Miami Dolphins as 211th overall pick, in the 9th round of the NFL draft.
He spent three seasons with the Dolphins, the two-time Superbowl champion was traded to the Baltimore Colts, where he played for one season. Afterwards, he made a comeback to the Dolphins and played for another one season.
He had played in a number of Championship games including the AFC Championship.
Ginn joined the Oakland Raiders in 1976, and remained with the team until his retirement in 1978.
