Lady Miss Kier, also known as Lady Kier and Kier Kirby, is an American singer, DJ, fashion icon, and activist. She was the singer of music group Deee-Lite. Towa Tei was also a member of the group.

Lady Miss Kier’s paternal grandfather was Harry Edward Kirby (the son of John Kirby, Jr. and Mabel Foley). Harry was born in Liberty Township, Ohio. John was the son of John Kirby, who was born in Canada, to Irish immigrants, and of Catherine Healy, who was born in New Jersey, also to Irish parents. Mabel was the daughter of Harry E. Foley, whose father, and maternal grandfather, were English immigrants; and of Mary Kelly, who was Irish.

Lady Miss Kier’s paternal grandmother was Doris Wilma Williard (the daughter of William Coole Williard and Doris Evelyn Stefanski). Lady Miss Kier’s grandmother Doris was born in Youngstown, Ohio. William was the son of Levi Wisman Williard and Rosetta Mary Daniels, and had deep roots in the U.S. Lady Miss Kier’s great-grandmother Doris was the daughter of John Stefanski, who was born in Scotland, to a Polish father and a Scottish mother; and of Mary Harris, who was Welsh.

Lady Miss Kier’s maternal grandfather was Harold Samley/Samuel Mittman (the son of Leopold “Lipe” Mittman and Rosa Turk). Harold was born in Youngstown, Ohio, to Austrian Jewish parents. Leopold was the son of Mendel Mittman and Annie Altfater. Rosa was the daughter of David Turk and Rebecca Brandt.
