This came as a blessing and went exactly as they envisioned. She got the role of Diane Johnson in the sitcom named “Black-ish”. She was part of the main characters. Early Life
Marsai Martin’s full name is Caila Marsai Martin. She was born to Carol and Joshua Martin in Little Elm on the day of August 14, 2004. She was interested in acting as early as the age of two.
She liked mimicking the characters that she saw on films and TV shows. This child actress learned how to act before she learned how to even talk. This was a sign to the parents and they took it with great seriousness. They believed that their daughter was meant for the cameras. Her father actively worked for her photoshoot to be done. He contacted many photographers and requested photoshoots. A photographer agreed to do so and when Martin was five years old, she was photographed and her photos were sent to different agencies.
After sending the photos to four agencies, they found luck with Kim Dawson as he was the only one that wanted to sign her up.
She went to an acting school called Cathryn Sullivan’s Acting for Film where she learned acting and actively worked to polish her skills.
At the age of nine, her parents decided to move to LA where she auditioned for many roles.
Career
Marsai Martin appeared on television for the first time at the age of five via a commercial for Choice Hotel. After this, she appeared in the commercial for a car care company called Meineke.
At this point, she was already very confident about her acting skills. Hence, she auditioned for various roles in various TV shows and films. She bagged her first noteworthy role in 2014 in the TV show called “Black-ish”.
In the show, she played the role of Diane Johnson who is the youngest daughter in a middle-class black family. This young actress was loved by many and she was able to adore the whole audience. Marsai also won many awards for this role.
In 2016, along with voicing the character Nina, she played the main role in the film titled “Melody 1963: Love Has to Win”.
In 2017, she starred in the film “Fun Mom Dinner” in which she played the role of Hannah. The comedy movie received mixed reviews.
The film “Little” had an average rating and did fairly well commercially. In the film, she played the role of Jordana Sanders. According to her father, the idea for the film was pitched by Marsai herself. This film made her the youngest producer in Hollywood.

Since Marsai Martin is still underage, her father looks after her finances. He is also her manager. She is homeschooled as she is caught up in acting and going to school wouldn’t be a plausible option.
Her father is the president of the film production company called Genius Productions. It is his own company and Martin’s mother is the vice-president.
