Matt Forte is an American professional football player. He was a running back for ten seasons, having played for the Chicago Bears and the New York Jets, of the National Football League (NFL).

He is the son of Gilda (Tezeno) and Ulycess/Ulysess Gene Forte. Both of his parents are black. His mother likely has Creole roots. He is a cousin of professional football player Andrew Adams. Matt is married to Danielle Daniels, with whom he has two children. He is a Christian.

Matt’s maternal grandfather was The Rev. Ulycess/Ulysess/Ulus Forte (the son of Earnest Theodore Fort and Minnie Belle Brown). The Rev. Ulycess was born in Texas.

Matt’s maternal grandmother was named Jimmie Mae Williams (the daughter of Luther Williams and Annis). Jimmie was born in Texas.
