Sam Tsui is an American singer, songwriter, video producer, and actor. His father, George, was born in Hong Kong, and is of Cantonese Chinese ancestry. His mother, Judy, is of European descent, from Iowa. Sam can speak Cantonese to a degree.

Sam’s maternal grandfather was Dillon Wells Story (the son of Frank/Francis L. Story and Alma Pearl Wells). Dillon was born in Iowa. Frank was the son of Horace Daniel Story and Emma Luella Stevens/Stivers. Alma was the daughter of Charles Wells and Charlotte M. “Lottie” Peck.

Sam’s maternal grandmother was Clarice Isabelle Bixler (the daughter of Victor Earl Bixler and Edith Grace Long). Clarice was born in Iowa. Victor was the son of Andrew Jackson Bixler and Susan Emeline Wohrer. Edith was the daughter of Ira C. Long and Sara Arta Knott.
