She is married to professional baseball player J. P. Arencibia.

One of her great-great-grandfathers, Constantin Dietrich, was indicted by a federal grand jury in North Dakota, in 1917, for forging his naturalization papers.

Tomi’s paternal grandfather was Wayne Glenn Lahren (the son of Henry G. Lahren and Gertrude “Gertie” Schleicher). Wayne was born in North Dakota. Henry was born in North Dakota, to Norwegian parents, Gudbrand/Gilbert Halvorson/Halvor/Henry Lahren and Carrie Bjerke. Gertrude was born in North Dakota, to German parents, Ulrich Schleicher and Waldburga Jooss.

Tomi’s paternal grandmother was Elaine M. Bender (the daughter of Jacob M. Bender and Wilhelmine Minnie Ebel). Elaine was born in South Dakota. Edna was the daughter of Jacob E. Schlaht and Christine/Christina Hertel.

Tomi’s maternal grandmother was Janet/Jan Rae Eby (the daughter of Raymond/Ray Harold Eby and Veleire E. Howe). Raymond was born in North Dakota, to parents from Minnesota, Harrison “Harry” Norman Eby, whose parents were from Pennsylvania, and Emma Matilda or Dolora Schaefer, whose mother was German. Veleire was the daughter of Wayne Baxter Howe and Wilma Fern Keister, and had English, German, and Scots-Irish/Northern Irish ancestry.
