What does the DC stand for on a Ruger P95DC?

DC= No safety, first shot with long DA trigger pull, all follow up shots with a much nicer single action pull. I prefer the DC, the first shot on any Ruger P-series is so long and stiff, that an extra safety is not needed at all (IMHO). I carry a P95DC just about every day, and feel very safe.

With a good belt and holster, the P95 is actually pretty easy to conceal & carry (my P95 was my very first CC gun many moons ago). I carried it in either a Hume JIT slide OWB or a CB Supertuck IWB (always with a full magazine in the gun and a spare mag elsewhere on my belt).

When was the Ruger P89 made?
Production of the P89 was completed in 2004. P89 differed from its predecessor by a slightly lighter weight, several internal improvements and in the fact that it was available in three separate models – with standard safety, decocker-only lever or with DAO trigger and no manual safety.

Both guns dimmensionally are identical and parts can be switched from gun to gun. the Difference is the p85 hasa milled aluminum frame where the p89 was rugers first attempt atcasting and the frame is made of chromoly steel.
Which is better Ruger P89 vs P95?
Polymer frame on the P95 vs Aluminum on the P89. The P95 has a smoother appearance and is probably better for CCW. The P89 has a 1/2in longer barrel, might be a hair more accurate, and has removeable side panels for better access. I like both myself, and eventually may pick up a P95 as well.
