DC= No safety, first shot with long DA trigger pull, all follow up shots with a much nicer single action pull. I prefer the DC, the first shot on any Ruger P-series is so long and stiff, that an extra safety is not needed at all (IMHO). I carry a P95DC just about every day, and feel very safe.

Can a Ruger P89 shoot +P ammo?

Yes, Ruger’s P89 will handle +P with ease and the “+P+” ammo as well. Location: U.S.A. The Ruger will gobble up ANY ammo—-short of a double charged round or some other mistake of that sort.

Is the Ruger P89 discontinued?

Ruger only made 5750 with both barrels. The P89 was discontinued in late 2007.

Is Ruger P89 a good gun?

Yes, it’s reliable. Yes, it’s capable of good accuracy with practice. But it’s going to be tough to CCW because it holds to the old Bill Ruger motto, “No honest man needs a handgun smaller than a canned ham.” Even the Ruger American feels like a hi-point got a facelift and a trigger job.

Is a Ruger P95 good for concealed carry?

With a good belt and holster, the P95 is actually pretty easy to conceal & carry (my P95 was my very first CC gun many moons ago). I carried it in either a Hume JIT slide OWB or a CB Supertuck IWB (always with a full magazine in the gun and a spare mag elsewhere on my belt).

What is the difference between Ruger P95 and P95DC?

So what is the difference in the manual of arms between the earlier P95DC and the current P95 (Manual Safety)? The manual of arms is the same, except the manual safety lever remains down, disabling the pistol, if not manually moved up to the fire position after decocking.

Which is better Ruger P89 vs P95?

Polymer frame on the P95 vs Aluminum on the P89. The P95 has a smoother appearance and is probably better for CCW. The P89 has a 1/2in longer barrel, might be a hair more accurate, and has removeable side panels for better access. I like both myself, and eventually may pick up a P95 as well.
