Typically, your Available Balance is less than your Actual Balance because your Available Balance reflects purchases you have made that have been authorized, but have not cleared your account.
What is available balance vs actual balance?
“Actual” Balance – The amount of money that is in your account at any given time. It reflects transactions that have posted to (cleared) your account, but not items that are outstanding. “Available” Balance – The amount of money in your account that is available for you to use.
Why is my balance more than available?
The available balance for your account may differ from the current balance because of pending transactions that have been presented against the account, but have not yet been processed. The available balance also includes credit available if you have a line of credit linked to your checking account.
Why is my available balance negative?
You’ll have a negative balance if your credit card issuer owes you money. It will be noted with a minus sign in front of the number listed for your current balance. You could see a negative balance if you accidentally overpaid your bill. You could also see one if you got a refund for a returned purchase.
Why is my available balance?
Your available balance is your current balance minus any holds or debits that haven’t yet been posted to the account. If you have no holds or pending transactions, the two balances are likely the same. But if you use your debit card regularly or you recently deposited a large check, the two balances may be different.
What’s the difference between the account balance and the available balance?
My account balance is the actual balance that I have and this is the basis in calculating the interest of all the money I have with the bank. It is also the balance that is printed on my bank statement. The available balance is the amount of funds that can be withdrawn from my account.
What does the current balance on a debit card mean?
Current balances include all of your money, including all available funds PLUS funds that are being held. For example, assume your available and current balance are both $50, and you swipe your debit card at a restaurant for $20.
What’s the difference between credit and actual balance?
Actual Balance is a credit balance in the account. i) Credit balance may include some credits which have been realised/ cleared. The available balance will be excluding the uncleared credits. ii) If you have a debit limit (say) of Rs.5.00 lacs.
How can I tell if my credit card balance is the same or different?
If you have no holds or pending transactions, the two balances are likely the same. But if you use your debit card regularly or you recently deposited a large check, the two balances may be different. You’ll probably be able to tell what your current balance is simply by checking your online account through your web browser or mobile app.
